In the latest news, the news has been broken out that the lockdown will not end on the 3rd of May. The Central Government has decided to extend the lockdown period for 2 more weeks.
Now the entire nation will remain under lockdown until 17th May 2020.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued new guidelines that regulate the different activities in these 2 weeks based on the risk profiling of the districts in India. The profiles will be Red (Hotspot), Orange, and Green.
The guidelines have permitted considerable relaxations to the districts which will fall under the Orange and Green zones.
Irrespective of the zone, travel by Air, Rail, Metro, and any inter-State movement by road will be banned. Also running Schools, Universities or any other educational and training/ coaching institutions will remain prohibited.
In Red zones, outside the containment zones, certain activities will remain prohibited from the activities which are otherwise also prohibited across India. These are plying of cycle-rickshaws, and/ or auto-rickshaws, taxis, and cab aggregators. Also, intra=state and inter-district playing of buses will not be allowed either. In red zones barber shops, salons and spas will also remain closed.
In Orange zones, in addition to the activities permitted in the Red zones, taxis and cab aggregators will be permitted with the condition of 1 drive and 1 passenger. Also, the inter-district movement of individuals and vehicles will now be allowed however for only permitted vehicles. A maximum of 2 people will be allowed in 4-wheelers apart from the driver. Also on 2-wheelers pillion will be allowed.
The total number of reported cases of COVID-19 in India as to 1st May has surged over 35,000 while the death caused by this deadly virus has reached 1,154.
